Lola M. Knisley, 66, of Hillsboro, died Saturday morning, March 12, 2011 at her home.
She was born May 1, 1944, in Hillsboro, a daughter of the late Richard Lewis and Minette (Stratton) McClain.
She attended the Fairview Church of Christ. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed fishing. On March 5, 1966, she married her husband of 45 years, Carol Edward Knisley, and he survives.
She is also survived by three children, Jason Knisley and his wife Laura of Lynchburg, Beth Cameron and her husband Charles of Hillsboro, and Susan Calhoon and her husband Rue of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Emily Knisley, Ben Knisley, Daniel Cameron, Anna Calhoon, Eliyah Calhoon, Josh Calhoon and Sam Calhoon; seven siblings, Alice (Ray) Warner of Lynchburg, Richard T. (Jerlene) McClain of Lynchburg, Delores (Robert) Frye of Hillsboro, Barbara Sue Knisley of Hillsboro, Michael Hugh (Sherry) McClain of Lynchburg, James David McClain of Hillsboro and Keith (Dolores Coffman) McClain of Fayetteville; an aunt, Mary Hahn of Sardinia; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as four special friends, Mary Hudson, Sandy Hall, Jimmie Anderson and Kathy Mercer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Knisley.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Larry Herdman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dunn’s Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
