Lillian M. Jones, 84, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 with her family by her side.

She was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Mary Drab.

Besides her dedication to her family, she was an avid animal lover and protector, and made sure every animal she encountered was fed and cared for.

She is survived by three children, Joe Urbanski of Las Vegas, Nev., Sue (Randy) McNeil of Lynchburg, with whom she made her home, and Richard Urbanski of Pahrump, Nev.; eight grandchildren, Josephine Neddo, Mary Cerone, Cathy Potts, Michelle Cole, Rebecca Dingledein, Polly Malone, Andrea McKeever and Dennis Richard Urbanski; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John Drab and Edward Drab, both of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Adele White; two brothers, Peter and Ambrose Drab; and a daughter-in-law, Lorie Urbanski.

In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Leo Kuhn will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
