Lester Thompson, 90, of Hillsboro, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at the Hospice of Blue Ash.

He was born in Rowan County, Ky. on Nov. 12, 1921, the son of the late Lowell and Rena (Roberts) Thompson.

On Jan. 6, 1943, he was united in marriage to Naomi Hall, who preceded him in death on Nov. 26, 2005. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

He retired in 1971 from the Bill Minnielli Construction Company in Fairfield and was an avid gardener, expert mechanic and carpenter and a friend to all.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Nelson and Pam Thompson and Roger and Jerri Thompson, all of Hillsboro; two daughters and sons-in-law; Mary and Jerry Patton of Brecksville, Ohio and Janet and Nelson Dotson of Seaman; four sisters, Mayme McDonald and Gracie Darrah, both of Indiana, and Annie Logan and Nellie Johnson, both of Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
