Laura (Baxla) Conway, 43, of Lancaster, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster.
She was born April 8, 1968 in Greenfield, the daughter of Norman B. and Molly K. (Benner) Baxla.
She was a longtime member of the Greenfield First United Methodist Church. She was an education instructor at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, LLP in Columbus. She was a 1986 graduated of the Edward Lee McClain High School, where she was salutatorian; a 1991 graduate of Wilmington College with a bachelor of arts in music; and a 1996 graduate of Ohio State University with a master's degree in music education, where she graduated summa cum laude.
She is survived by her husband, Jamie Conway, whom she married on May 18, 1991; one daughter, Kyra Conway of Lancaster; parents, Norman and Molly Baxla of Greenfield; parents-in-law, Vernon and Johanna Conway of Villa Hills, Ky.; two brothers, Michael Scott Baxla of Athens and Stephen Joseph (Shawn) Baxla of Batavia; one sister, Christina L. (Todd) Lewandowski of Hilliard; four sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Chris) Jarman of Florence, Ky., Veronica (Rex) Boblitt of San Diego, Calif., Vanessa Conway of Villa Hills, Ky. and Jessica Conway of Villa Hills, Ky.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Glenn and Ferne Benner and Alfred and Marjorie Baxla.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27 at the Greenfield First United Methodist Church, 405 South Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123 with Rev. James Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.
