Kathryn J. "Kathy" Howland, 57, and Gary B. Howland, 61, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 as a result of an automobile accident.

Kathy was born in Jamestown, Ohio on Dec. 8, 1954, the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Hattie Mae (Lyons) Wallace.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Jamie Lee Jamison; two brothers, Tony and Eric Wallace; and three brothers-in-law, Neal Bussell, Stefan Karnes and Duane Hoover.

Gary was born in Wilmington on Aug. 2, 1950, the son of the late Melvin Leroy and Helen Marie (Neff) Howland. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one grandson, Jamie Lee Jamison; one brother Duane Hoover; and four brothers-in-law, Neal Bussell, Stefan Karnes and Tony and Eric Wallace.

They were united in marriage on April 9, 1978. They were both members of the Hillsboro Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1161.

They are survived by three sons, Brett (Brenda) Howland, Ronald E. (Betty) Jamison and James (Peggy) Howland, all of Hillsboro; and two daughters, Kelly (Craig) Page of Peebles and Tina (Kevin) Meyer of Cincinnati. Kathy is survived by four brothers, Don (Kathy) Wallace of Belfast, Ron (Janine) Wallace of Wilmington, Jeff Wallace of Peebles and Toby (Terri) Wallace of Peebles; and one sister, Linda Bussell of Hillsboro. Gary is survived by one brother, Jack (Nancy) Howland of Hillsboro; and two sisters, Sandra (Ray) Ross of Hillsboro and Lisa Karnes of Peebles. They are also survived by 10 grandchildren, Anthony W. Howland, James Howland, Eric Page, Jared Howland, Mariah Page, Tony Page, Sterra Jamison, Taj Meyer, Spencer Meyer and Jacklyn Fite; four great-grandchildren, Zoey Page, Riley Byers, Cameron "CB" Page and Kaiden Fite; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Eagles Services will be held at 6 p.m. followed by funeral service Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Inurnment of cremains will be held at the convenience of the family in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
