Kathleen Manley Wheaton, 80, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Greenfield, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Maria Joseph Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dayton.
She was born April 5, 1929 in Sabina, Ohio, the daughter of the late Earl and Mabel Johnson Manley.
She retired in 1991 from Maria Joseph Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dayton. She was a graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. She was a former member of the Bible Missionary Church in Greenfield and a current member of the Wesleyan Evangelistic Church in Dayton.
She is survived by her daughter, Penny J. Wheaton, of Dayton; her son, Rick (Lora) Smith, of Washington C.H.; three grandchildren, Mandy (Scott) Miller of Dayton, Chad Smith of Washington C.H., and Amy Smith of Seattle, Wash.; five great-grandchildren, including her pride and joy, Jacob Patrick Miller, Kortney, Jordan, Seth, and Emma; a sister, Linda (Richard) Yeakley of Dayton; several nieces and nephews; and very special friends Rosie Everhart of Greenfield and Richard and Pat Puckett of Goshen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Carl Manley; two sisters, Judy Enix and Betty Dorman; and a brother-in-law, Floyd Dorman.
Ms. Wheaton donated her body to science, and a celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Wesleyan Evangelistic Church in Dayton with Rev. John Manley officiating. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Greenfield Cemetery under the direction of the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home of Greenfield.
