Katherine Irene Steiner, 89, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012 at her home.
She was born Oct. 31, 1922 in Lyndon, the daughter of Charles E. and Bertha Mae (Gall) Hafer.
She was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ and was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Frederick Lewis (Judy) Steiner of Knoxville, Tenn; three daughters, Shirley Stroop of Greenfield, Lula Mae (Richard) Caplinger of Seaman and Pamela S. (James) Brown of Greenfield; eight grandchildren, James Brown, Jr., Melissa Merritt, Shannon Steiner, Tina Steiner, Doug Steiner, Carol (Keith) Brown, Renee (Tim) Holbrook and Caleb "Skip" (Dawn) Stapleton; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard Hafer of Greenfield; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Lewis Steiner on Sept. 5, 1991; two brothers, Roy and Richard Hafer; and three sisters, Iva Bartley, Louise McCormick and Mary Jane Wallingford.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Brother Dallas Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home, 380 Jefferson Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
