Julia Hester, 94, of Bainbridge, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 3, 2011 at Edgewood Manor of Greenfield.
She was born on July 20, 1917 to the late Wesley and Nora (Nevins) Kerns.
She was married to the late William "Ed" Hester on March 18, 1939. Julia was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed birdwatching, reading and cooking. She attended the Fruitdale Methodist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Crystal Ann (Red) Osborne, Rebecca Lee Brown and Kathy Jo Hester; one sister, Francis Bailey; seven grandchildren, Amy (Dean) Renner, Dawn Gabriel, William (Billy) Hester, Shane (Mel) Osborne, Kelly (Rick) McNeal, Stella (Kevin) Riley and Tommy (Patti) Osborne; three great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Leroy (Susan) Hester; and a host of relatives and dear friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Wesley "Bud" Hester; two sisters, Mary Jones and Sara Rhoads; five brothers-in-law, Howard Bailey, John D. Rhoads, Charlie R. Jones, George Riggin and Paul Hester; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Riggin and Billie Hester.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Marland Penwell officiating with burial to follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund at Edgewood Manor of Greenfield, 850 Nellie Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
