Joy Emery, 84, of Hillsboro died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at her home.

She was born Jan. 8, 1928 near Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Gerald and Mary Hazel Williams Hopkins.

Mrs. Emery had been the legal secretary for Ronald Swonger, Attorney-At-law, for 30 years. She was a member of the Allensburg Church of Christ and the Highland County Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon “Sherry” (Dana) Corzatt of Columbus; two grandchildren, Kim Slick of Columbus and Kyle Corzatt of Mt. Sterling; five great- grandchildren, Rebecca and Jonathan Slick, Samantha, Eric and Sara Corzatt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. Emery, on Aug. 17, 1986; and two brothers, Dean and Paul Hopkins.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Allensburg Church of Christ. Bob Stevens will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Allensburg Church of Christ.
