Joseph H. Brown, 73, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at the Highland District Hospital.
He was born March 18, 1936 in Sparta, Tenn., the son of the late Waymon and Orene Seabolt Brown.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and had retired as maintenance supervisor from Randall-Textron in Wilmington. He enjoyed farming and was an animal lover, but his wife, children, and grandchildren were dearest to his heart.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janice E. Durham Brown, to who he married Aug. 5, 1961 in Fountain City, Ind.; a daughter, Mindy Brown Juillerat of Lynchburg; two sons, Joseph A. (Tabitha) Brown of Bainbridge and Jason M. (Kim) Brown of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Kyle, Ethan, and Lexi Brown; sister Barbara (Dewey) Isaacs of Connersville, Ind.; brother Waymon “Smokey” (Linda) Brown of Richmond, Ind.; sister-in-law Donna (Dee) Baltes of Cleveland; brother-in-law Darrell (Linda) Durham of Eaton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Earl Brown.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Leo Kuhn will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Highland County Honor Guard will accord Military Honors.
