John O. Jackman, 72, of Greenfield, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at home.

He was born Dec. 2, 1939 in Adams County, the son of William T. and Thelma L. (Bailey) Jackman.

He retired in 2001 from MAC Tool in Sabina, was a former supervisor at Greenfield Foundry, and former owner of the Diamond Grill and the Village Pump of Greenfield. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, member of FOE #1325 and VFW Post 4736.

He is survived by two daughters, Leah (Terry) Piatt of Greenfield, Kelli (Steve) Jackman of Greenfield; one son, Mark Jackman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, John A. (Shauna) Gunter, Jamie (Jason) Brown, Joy (Levi) Brown; three great grandchildren, Kyler and Riley Smith, and Kaleb Rinehart; two sisters, Joan (John) Gray of Jeffersonville, Patty (Bill) Watson of Greenfield; one brother, Ted (Lana) Jackman of Greenfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Joyce Jackman, who died Sept. 13, 2012; one daughter, Lori Anne Jackman; two brothers, Bill and Jim Jackman; and both parents.

Services will be 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22 at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield, with the Rev. Neal Reid officiating. Cremation will follow and burial of the cremains will take place in the Greenfield Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday.
