Joann I. Justus, 78, of Sciotoville (formerly of Hillsboro), died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.
She was born in Williamsburg on Sept. 24, 1932, the daughter of Frankie and Joy (Harshbarger) Fender.
She was a member of the Waits Baptist Church in Slocum and a dedicated Christian. She taught school in Hillsboro Public Schools and the Wheelersburg School System, where she retired. She was a loving wife and great companion for 35 years.
She is survived by her husband, Arch Justus of Sciotoville; one son, Kip (Cheryl) Williams of Georgetown; one daughter, Kim (Norman) Crum of Hillsboro; two stepsons, John (Mary Ann) Justus of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Jeff (Michelle) Justus of Richmond, Ind.; three grandchildren, Ashley Armstrong, CJ George and Alexis Crum; and two great-grandchildren, Colton Armstrong and Lucas Briggs.
Graveside services will be held 12:15 p.m. Aug. 6, 2011 at the New Market Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10-11:45 a.m. Saturday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
