Jerry L. Fent, 74, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 at Springfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Springfield on March 4, 1937, the son of Frances and Opal Fent.
He retired from International Harvester/Navastar in Springfield. Jerry cherished living with his uncle, Orla Fent, at his farm and all the family activities with his cousins in Springfield. Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren, cooking and taking care of the veterans while living in Greenfield.
He is survived by two sons, Richie (Annie) Fent and Rex (Jamie) Fent; two daughters, Kathy and Freda Fent; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Angie Fent; one brother, Carl Fent; and both parents.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Alex Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Thursday until time of service.
