Jerry DeLong, 49, of Lynchburg, died Monday, June 18, 2012.

He was born in Van Lear, Ky. on Sept. 19, 1962.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy E. DeLong.

He is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Ray and Bonnie Oberschlake of Lynchburg; two children, Zachary Greer of Florida and Melissa (Shaun) Clancy of Delaware; four grandchildren; two brothers, Larry DeLong of Paintsville, Ky. and Michael (Niki) DeLong of Winchester; two sisters, Sandra (Gary) Baisden of Delbarton, W.Va. and Sharon (Bart) Turner of Lynchburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 21 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

The Rev. Randle Goble will officiate with burial to follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call Thursday from noon-2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
