Jennifer Partridge, 46, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.

She was born Feb. 2, 1966 in Columbus, the daughter of Tom and Melinda Miller Partridge.

As a child growing up in Hillsboro, Jennifer demonstrated enthusiasm for nature and science, which continued throughout her lifetime. She graduated in 1984 from Hillsboro High School and maintained close friendships with many schoolmates to this day. Following in her Grandmother Partridge’s footsteps, Jennifer pursued a career in nursing.  Jennifer dedicated her career to caring for others in their time of need. She graduated summa cum laude from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1998 and later received her bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University in 2004. In her nearly 15 years at The Christ Hospital, Jennifer was skilled in working almost every department. She spent the majority of her time in the intensive care units, providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients, and maintained her Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.  Jennifer was enthusiastic about integrating advanced technologies, whether it was helping to teach the electronic documentation system or being one of the first nurses to work in the eICU, Critical Connections. She valued education, often serving as a mentor for new nurses and tutoring students in math and calculus. Jennifer worked at Camp Hamwi for children with diabetes and went to Santa Lucia, Honduras as part of a medical mission with Shoulder-to-Shoulder. Jennifer believed in supporting the professionalism of nursing and was involved in numerous councils and committees throughout her career. She was an integral member of the team that designed an award-winning medical intensive care unit. In 2008, Jennifer was the recipient of the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Jennifer will always be remembered for her devotion to family, her daughter Lizzie, her friends, her profession and her Midwestern heritage.

Jennifer is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Partridge; father, Dr. Tom (Michelle Weil) Partridge of Hillsboro; mother, Melinda (Doug Chaney) Miller of Hillsboro; sisters, Beth Ann (Dan Pancake) Partridge of Hillsboro and Valerie (Brook) Wise of Hillsboro; niece, Claire Wise and nephew, Charlie Wise; aunt, Melissa (Roger) Smith of Hillsboro; and uncle Col. William F. Partridge of Ft. Hood, Texas.

Memorial services will be held 6 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. A reception will be held the following Friday, July 27, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Adams Place, 900 Adams Crossing, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.
