Jean Larrick, 78, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012.
She was born Aug. 9, 1934, in Warrington, England, the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Mather.
She had retired in 1996 from Farm Credit Services after 26 years of service and had served as the secretary/treasurer of the Highland County Fair Board for a number of years.
She is survived by two children, Sue Reed and her husband Mike and Rick Larrick and his wife Connie, both of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Kyle (Lauren) Dye, Kristi (Steve) Daughtery, Tiffany Larrick, Megan (Jeff) Blevins, Jamie Reed, Tonya (Kenric) Sturgill and Wade (Marcie) Larrick; a step-grandson, Derrick Crabtree, as well as 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James H. Larrick, on Jan. 12, 2009; a son, Doug Larrick; and a sister, Betty Wooley.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Martinsville IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
