Janice E. “Jan” Terrell, 77, of Hillsboro died Monday, June 18, 2012 at her residence.

She was born Aug. 11, 1934 in Reesville, the daughter of the late Harold F. and Ruth Bernard Black.

Mrs. Terrell had been an X-ray technician at the Highland District Hospital for 22 years. She was a member of the Hillsboro Elks Lodge #361 and had been the Ladies Golf Champion five times. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by one son, Brad (Angie) Terrell of Hillsboro; one daughter, Kim (Dennis) Best of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Ethan (Ashley) Groves of Lebanon, Matthew (Karlei Flint) Hertenstein of Hillsboro, Kevin (Melissa) Best of Hillsboro, Craig (Christal) Best of Hillsboro, Miranda (Charles) Newton of Hillsboro, and Melanie Hertenstein-Evans of Hillsboro; five great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jayce Newton, Canton Evans, Hailey Fischer and Alaina Best; two nieces, Sandy (Jimmy) Reese of Dayton and Cindy (Brent White) Pearson of Waverly; and a special friend, Rita K. Blankenship of Hillsboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth E. and Jeanne Black; one sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn J. and Bill Little; and one nephew, Billy Little.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation.
