James W. Funkhouser, Jr., 43, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born May 19, 1969 in Cincinnati, the son of James W. and Mary A. Conley Funkhouser, Sr.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing video games.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, James and Jeanne Funkhouser, Sr. of Lynchburg; stepsister Debbie Preston of Lynchburg; his girlfriend, Zonnia, with whom he lived; and several aunt, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Agnes Funkhouser; and his brother, Kevin Funkhouser.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Mike Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
