James T. “Jim” Palmer, Jr., of the Belfast community, died Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born in Adams County on Aug. 7, 1941, the son of James Thaddeus and Edna Ethel (Maxwell) Palmer, Sr.
He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Farm Bureau and the Scioto County Milk Association.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Ed Palmer, Paul Palmer and Dale Palmer; and one sister, Geneva Snider.
He is survived by his devoted companion, Rebecca Gall; extended family, Roger Minner of Philadelphia, Todd Minner of Philadelphia and George Douglas Gall of Greenfield; two brothers, Ronald “Pete” Palmer of Seaman and Dean Palmer of Belfast; three sisters, Ilena Palmer of Belfast, Effie Behm of Belfast and Anna Graham of New Vienna; six grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Mick Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Coss Cemetery with military rites by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Monday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
