James Edwin Walker, 71, of Hillsboro, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Chillicothe.

He was born May 1, 1940 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Buetin Jay Walker and Eleanor (Corbin) Walker Washer, who survives in Montgomery, La., with his step-father, Clarence Washer.

He was a disabled U.S. Army War veteran. He was a member of D.A.V., American Legion, and a life member of the Amvets, and the Marshall Church of Christ.

In addition to his mother and step-father, other surviving family members are his sister, Alice Banes of Natchitoches, La.; step-son, David Stafford; three step-grandchildren; a step-sister, Frieda Berry of Natchitoches, La.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (White) Walker.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 East Main Street, Hillsboro, with Pastor Tom Stoops officiating. Interment will follow in the Cynthiana Cemetery.

Friends will be received at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2.

Contributions may be made to the Feed the Children in Mr. Walker's memory.
