James “Billy” Thompson, 63, of Rainsboro, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born May 10, 1948 in Pike County, the son of David Frank Thompson and Rosa Mae (Massie) Thompson.
He recently retired from Paint Township due to illness, after 24 years of employment. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by, his wife, Kimberly Dawn (Gephart) Thompson, whom he married Nov. 13, 1978; one son, Bruce (Tara) Thompson of Rainsboro; two daughters, Tammy (James) King of Bainbridge and Teresa (Blake) Baker of New Vienna; grandchildren Caleb, Hayleigh and Logan Thompson, Jeffrey and Steven King, Beth Ann and Brett McMillan and Kwaid and Lane Baker; great-grandchildren Kitana and Amaya King; father, David Thompson of Hillsboro; two sisters, Joyce (Jim) Fettro of Hillsboro and Bonnie (Ed) Warnock of Reesville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Scott Thompson; one brother, Randy Thompson; one infant sister, Janet Thompson; and his mother, Rosa Thompson.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 27 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Carey Glenn Hilterbran officiating. Burial will follow in the New Fain Cemetery near Latham.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
