James Andrew Gibson, 68, of Hillsboro, formerly of South Salem, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at his home.

He was born Jan. 27, 1943 in Carmel, the son of Clay and Lucy Gibson.

He was a farmer and a construction worker. He served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by children, Jamie Gibson, James Gibson, Tony Gibson, Bobby Gibson, Billy Jack Howard and Renee Sparks; several stepchildren; several grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Jenkins; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Tessie Gibson of South Salem.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Gibson; five sisters, Beatrice Gibson, Helen Gibson, Pauline Johnson, Julie Ann Carter and Marie Campbell; and both parents.

Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Roger Newkirk officiating. Burial will follow at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of service. Veterans Appreciation Service willa begin at 11 a.m.
