James Alexander Coffman
James Alexander Coffman, 80, of Hillsboro died Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Arbors of Milford.
He was born June 28, 1932 in Packard, Ky., the son of the late Charlie and Edith Cooper Coffman.
Mr. Coffman had retired after 33 years of service with the Ford Motor Company and had been the pastor of the Ervin Road Baptist Church for 25 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Faye Lanham Coffman; two sons, James W. (Shelly) Coffman of Lexington, Ky. and Gary (Darian) Coffman of Milford; family member, Devona (Ed) Avelwater of Owensville; seven grandchildren, Paula, Anna, Laura and Wesley Coffman of Lexington, Ky. and Kaylyn, Jessica and Sarah Coffman of Milford; family members, Nicholas and Kate Avelwater of Owensville; and one sister, Ella Honnert of Orlando, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Porter.
Services will be held Thursday, July 19 from 6-7 p.m. at the Bible Believers Baptist Church, 7011 Ervin Road, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133. John Mason and James Coffman will officiate. Burial will take place in the Sugar Tree Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 3-6 p.m. at the Bible Believers Baptist Church, 7011 Ervin Road, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
