Howard Dunsieth, Jr., 85, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011 at Heartland of Hillsboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born July 12, 1926 in Buford, the son of the late Howard and Thelma Moore Dunsieth, Sr.
Mr. Dunsieth served in the United States Armed Forces with the Merchant Marines as a Fireman 1st Class and the United States Air Force. He had retired from I.B.M. as a service technician after more than 27 years of service. He was a member of the Highland County Antique Machinery Club and enjoyed flea markets and collecting antiques of all kinds.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Biggs Dunsieth; son Ron and his wife Patty Dunsieth of Chillicothe; step-children Vicki Long of Chillicothe, Gary Ecklar of Harrison and Jerry and his wife Wendy Ecklar of Harrison; grandchildren, Heather Dunsieth, Kyle Long, Chad Long, Tessa (Josh) Bell, Anna (Colt) Rooker, Gretta (Troy) Taylor, Austin Ecklar, Monica Ecklar, Diana (Jon) Lake, Brooke Ecklar and Miranda Ecklar; and great-grandchildren, Chloe Lake, Blaytin Lake, Alayna Parks, Fiona Parks, Jack Rooker and Titan Taylor.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Buford Cemetery, where the Highland County Honor Guard will accord military honors. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
