Hobert A. Blevins, Sr., 78, of Hillsboro, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012.

He was born in Sitka, Ky. on Nov. 2, 1933, the son of the late Leslie and Mae (Jones) Blevins.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine (Perkins) Blevins; one daughter, Christine Michelle Jenkins; and one brother, Robert.

He was a member, deacon and Sunday School teacher at the Pinetop Church of Christ in Christian Union; US Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Waverly Amvets Post #58, member of NRA and a retired truck driver.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Hobert Allen and Maria Blevins, Jr. of Depauw, Ind. and Herbert L. and Nancy Blevins of Hillsboro; two daughters; Angileta Jo Kinnamon of Hillsboro and Priscilla D. Blevins of Buford; one brother; Leslie Ray Blevins of Waverly; five sisters; Anita, Clarice, Mary Alice, Stella and Cora; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at the Wylie- Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring with Jeff Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Westwood Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
