Herbert J. Conley, 83, of Chillicothe, formerly of Greenfield and St. Cloud, Fla., passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Waverly on Nov. 24, 1928, the son of Robert and Hazel (McCallister) Conley.
He was a retired Lineman for DPL Electric Company after 30 years of service, attended the Buckskin School and was a member of St. Benignus Catholic Church in Greenfield, Dads Club, Elks Lodge of Greenfield and the Highland High Steppers.
He is survived by his wife, Doris (Spangler) Conley, whom he married April 22, 1950; one daughter, Mary Conley of Chillicothe; two sons, Charles (Rhonda) Conley of Morgantown, W.Va. and Robert (Terry) Conley of Circleville; four grandchildren, Ben, Katelyn, Courtney and Chad; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita (Wilbur) Anders of Milledgeville and Mary (Gill) Smith of Louisvlle, Ky.; one brother, Robert (Beverly) Conley of South Vienna; and a sister-in-law, Rhenda Conley of London, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by sister, Audrey Lamer; three brothers, Carl, Donald and James Conley; and both parents.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. Mr. Conley will be cremated at his request.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home of Greenfield is serving the family.
