Grandon C. Walker, 72, of the community of Danville, died Saturday evening, March 5, 2011 at the Laurels of Hillsboro.
He was born Feb. 28, 1939, in Hillsboro, the son of the late Denman and Bertha (Snoddy) Walker.
He was a lifelong farmer and businessman.
He is survived by three children, Lori Magulac and her husband Bill of Leesburg, Cris Walker and his wife Nanette of Columbus and Becki Oglesby and her husband Nick of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, Lindsey Jordan, Casey Jordan, Luke Magulac, Zachary Walker, Peyton Walker, Miranda (Logan) Watson, Morgan Oglesby and Mackenzie Oglesby; a sister, Henrietta (Hugh) Walker of South Carolina; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Jeanetta Walker, Alton D. Walker and Calvert Walker.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Tom Stoops will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hamer Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
