Gloria J. (Palmer) Wisecup, 71, of South Salem, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at home, surrounded by family.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1941 in Ross County and was the daughter of George H. and Opal (Pollock) Palmer.
Gloria worked as a postmaster in the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years and retired in 2001. She was a life member of the South Salem United Methodist Church and South Salem Garden Club. She loved to travel, golf, volunteer work and especially family. She was a 1959 graduate of the Buckskin Valley High School.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford Wisecup, whom she married on June 19, 1959; one son, G. Steven (Lorinda) Wisecup and three daughters, Tawny J. (John) Hendershot, Patricia L. Watkins, all of South Salem and Sue Ellen Priest of Greenfield; one brother, Joseph Dean (Helen) Palmer, and one sister, Laquitta (James) Kline, both of Greenfield; 14 grandchildren, Destiny (T.J.) Bryson, Steven Wisecup, Robert Wisecup, Zach Hendershot, Wesley Hendershot, Jamie Hendershot, Cody Hendershot, Joshua Johnson, Matthew Watkins, Jordayn Watkins, Josh Priest, Jacob (Shawna) Priest, Nicole Priest and Millie Priest; six great-grandchildren, Reece Bryson, Nadia Hendershot, Maria Hendershot, Chelsey Vanderbilt, Gabe Martinez and Elijah Martinez; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary LaVerne Kline, and both parents.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 30 at the South Salem United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the South Salem Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 29 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.
