Glenda Jean Rayburn, 63, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 at the Highland District Hospital.
She was born Aug. 26, 1948 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Harold and Viola Clee Shaffer.
She is survived by two sons, Carl W. Rayburn of Castle Rock, Colo. and Craig (Gen) Rayburn of Ft. Knox, Ky.; six grandchildren, Brittany Asiago, Chelcee Asiago, Avery Rayburn, Addriana Rayburn, Silas Rayburn and Aaron Rayburn; one great-grandson, Desmond Davis; and three sisters, Della Wilson of Lynchburg, Carolyn Godlove of Lynchburg, and Violet Hanson of Lexington, S.C.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Haroldene Shaffer.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at the Troutwine Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The Davis-Turner Funeral Home, Lynchburg, is serving the family.
