Gladys Marie Riddell, age 95, of Greenfield, died Wednesday morning, December 23, 2009 at the Greenfield Area Medical Center.
Gladys was born March 19, 1914 in Lawrence County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Descom D. and Julia May (Crawford) Cron. Gladys graduated from Bath High School. She married shortly after graduation and lived in Greene County before moving to Adams County in 1945. She was a mother and a homemaker that dedicated her time to her family, flowers and friends. She loved the scriptures and the study of them. She is survived by three sons, Charles E. Riddell of Metamora, IL; Warren E. (Loretta) Riddell of Astoria, OR; Kenneth A. (Elizabeth) Riddell of Winchester, and two daughters, Sharleen (Norman) Lawrence of Lexington, IN; Bonnie Riddell of Madison, IN., seventeen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Quenton, and two sisters, Avanelle and Elodie. Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at the Tranquility Cemetery, Tranquility, Ohio. There will be no visitation.
