Gladys Mae Chaplin
Gladys Mae Chaplin, 97, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Heartland of Hillsboro.
She was born April 6, 1915 in Berrysville, the daughter of the late John Trego and Effie Florence Lear Beekman.
Mrs. Chaplin was a member of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Washington Court House and the Marshall Church of Christ in Hillsboro. She was a 1934 graduate of Wayne High School in Good Hope, Ohio.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Chaplin, on May 10, 1996. They had been married on May 12, 1945 in Hillsboro. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Ethel Stoops, Callie Spargur, Goldie Gammell, Miranda Beekman and Mary Collins; and seven brothers, Ulric, Eylar, Chester, Ray and Gabriel Beekman and Russell and George Leininger.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 10 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Tom Stoops will officiate. Burial will take place in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home.
