Georgia Steffano, 73, of McKinney, Texas died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 in Texas.
She was born July 27, 1938 in Albany, Ky., the daughter of the late Edward Sell and Oleta “Vaughn” Sell Bertram.
She was raised and attended school in Dayton. She worked for Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro and Wichita General Hospital in Wichita Falls as an administrative assistant for 30 years until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of Grace Church in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Her passion was the chairing of The Children’s Miracle Network for five years.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Jeanette) Coy of McKinney, Texas, and Candy (Dr. Rindy) Matthews of Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren, Rachael Coy, Michael (Shanna) Coy, Todd (Stephanie) Coy, Dr. Roman (Amanda) Matthews, Rocky Matthews and Ryan Matthews; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Chase, Madison, Jakob, Carson and Camber Coy and one brother, Burnal Sell of Hillsboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother and sisters, Madeline, Barbara, Janice and Donnie.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. John Porter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
