George Lawrence Willman, 83, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at the Laurels in Hillsboro.
He was born Nov. 17, 1926 in Seaman, Ohio, the son of the late Jesse and Cora Lawrence Willman.
Mr. Willman had retired after 31 years as a conductor for the Norfolk and Western Railroad. He was a member of the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a life member of the American Legion Post #633 in Seaman, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie Ellison Willman; two daughters, Judy (Dan) McMillin of Lake Waynoka and Sherry (David) Markiewicz of Dayton; one son, John C. (Kathy) Willman of Lake Waynoka; six grandchildren, Krissy Harmon, Joy Hall, Zachary Markiewicz, Morgan Markiewicz, Ashley Willman and Charles Willman; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Willman; two half-brothers, Ed and Oscar Willman; one sister, Jessie Walker; five half-sisters, Lula Meyers, Flora Moore, Ocha Waller, Lucy Kelly and Edna Austin; and one niece, Wava Fristoe.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8 at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Tom Zile will officiate. Burial with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard will follow in the Cherry Fork Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene.
