Fred Sumner Haynes, 63, of Hillsboro, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2011 at his residence.

He was born on April 16, 1948 in Dayton, the son of the late Oliver Hart and Elise (Parrish) Haynes Sr.

He was a laboratory technician and a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife Lisa (Hopkins) Haynes of Hillsboro; one son Travis Haynes at home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Michael Thomas of Hillsboro, Melissa and Michael Schellinger of Hillsboro and Nichole and Drew Wharton of Centerville; one brother, Oliver H. Haynes, Jr. of Williamsburg, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

According to Fred's wishes, he wanted to be cremated with no visitation or services.

The Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
