Fred J. Schatzmann, 72, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 14, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born Dec. 14, 1938 in Middletown, the son of Fred and Helen (Boyd) Schatzmann.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was a lifetime member of the N.R.A. On Aug. 2, 1964, in Lynchburg, he married his wife of 47 years, Marilee (Pfister) Schatzmann, and she survives.
He is also survived by two children, Fred Schatzmann Jr. and his wife Tameika and Teresa Schatzmann, all of Lynchburg; and four grandchildren, Hailey Schatzmann of Sugarland, Texas and Katelyn, Richard and Nicole Tarr, all of Lynchburg.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. The Highland County Honor Guard will present military honors at the funeral home immediately following services. Friends may call from noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
