Frank D. McCoppin, 94, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 at the home of his son, Fred.

He was born on June 16, 1920 in Sinking Spring, the son of Harley and Ida Belle (Lawson) McCoppin.

He was an automobile mechanic at Pennington’s Bakery in Washington C.H. for 42 years, and also farmed. He was a member of the New Martinsburg Christian Fellowship Church and was a 1939 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School.

He is survived by his wife, Doris (Puckett) McCoppin, whom he married on May 23, 1942; two sons, Phil (Linda) McCoppin of Hillsboro and Fred McCoppin of Greenfield; two daughters, Becky Beck of Akron and Christine (David) Clarke of Stafford, Va.; 10 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mary McCoppin of Washington C.H.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Forrest McCoppin; and both parents.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at the New Martinsburg Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Kenneth Toops officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.
