Frank D. 'Fuzz' Lawwell
Frank D. “Fuzz” Lawwell, 74, of New Petersburg, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 1, 1937 in New Petersburg, the son of Otto and Alta (Hise) Lawwell.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who was a long-term blood donor to the American Red Cross. He was a student of history and ancestry, an avid hunter and Cincinnati Reds and sports fan. He served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and was a member of the Amvets Post 61. He retired from Greenfield Printing in 1997 and raised tobacco for many years. He was a 1955 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Lee (Hamilton) Lawwell whom he married on Sept. 30, 1961; three sons, Rob (Sarajayne) Lawwell of Bainbridge, Joe Lawwell of Washington C.H., and Sean (Michelle) Lawwell of Washington C.H.; one daughter, Laura (David) Hillyer of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Ty, Ren, Sasha, Kylan, Aedann Lawwell, and Ashlie Hillyer; numerous nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Norma Lee Lawwell of Reynoldsburg and Marcelene Lawwell of New Petersburg; mother-in-law, Millie Hamilton of Greenfield.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Wayne, Howard, William, and James Lawwell; one sister-in-law, Vickie Lawwell and both parents.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 13 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilboa Cemetery with military rites provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday with Veterans Appreciation Service to begin at 2 p.m.
