Evelyn Mae Davidson, 91, died at home in Silver City, N.M., on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011.
She was born April 14, 1920, in Hillsboro, a daughter of the late Leo and Jessie (Foster) McClure.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union and The Church of the Nazarene in Silver City.
She played the piano and was a Sunday school teacher for many years at the Walnut Hill Church. She worked hard all her life, whether it was on the family farm or serving her family and those in her community. For the last 20 years, she worked every morning with her son, Leo, at his business, the Dairy Queen. The workers named her Aunt Bea, a name that she liked. She crocheted many afghans for family and friends, loved to read and was a good cook. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh.
She is survived by her sons, Everett “Ed” Davidson and his wife, Lynne, and Leo Davidson and his wife, Pam, both of Silver City; five grandchildren, Sandra Martin of Silver City, Michael Davidson and his wife, Glinda, of Tucson, Ariz., Troy Davidson of Phoenix, Ariz., Tamara Cruse and her husband, Gerry, of Chillicothe, Ill., and Amber Davidson of Tempe, Ariz. five great- grandchildren, Tim Martin of Las Cruces, N.M., Robert Martin of Silver City, Taylor and Cameron Davidson of Tucson, Ariz., and Mikaela Davidson of Chillicothe, Ill.
She also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Carper Davidson; a brother, Wayne McClure; and sisters, Rowena Pitzer and Mary Case.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union, 10449 Barger Road, Leesburg. Pastor Bob Carroll will officiate. Burial will follow in the White Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the church.
