Evelyn Mae Briscoe, age 74, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 6, 1938, in Rising Sun, Ind., the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Dean (O’Connor) Penwell.

She is survived by two sons, Ben Winland of Greenfield and Lonnie (Debbie) Briscoe of South Salem; one daughter, Mary Briscoe of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Felicia (James) Moore of Leesburg, Cheyenne Cross of South Salem, Casey Cross of South Salem and Raven Winland of Bainbridge; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Peyton Moore; two sisters, Nora “Blondie” Pollick of La Porte, Ind., and Betty Ann (Charlie) Wilson of La Porte, Ind.; four brothers, George (Dot) Penwell of Greenfield, Gene (Peggy) Penwell of Greenfield, Henry (Tracy) Penwell of South Salem and Benjamin Penwell of Indiana; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodford Briscoe, on Oct. 29, 2002; one sister, Virginia; four brothers, Joe, Everett, Fred, and Lloyd Penwell; father, Benjamin Penwell; mother, Mary Bensen; and step-father, Cecil Bensen.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Brother Ronnie Piercy officiating. Cremation will follow and burial of the cremains will be at the convenience of the family.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to assist the family with expenses at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home, 380 Jefferson Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
