Evelyn Brown, 88, of Hillsboro, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011 at her residence.

She was born in Highland County on July 27, 1923, the daughter of the late Harley and Lena (Lamonda) Vance.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Woodrow Brown, on Aug. 3, 1997; one son, Roger Lee Brown; one daughter, Judith Brown; two great-grandchildren Brandon Webster and Trey Parker; eight sisters and one brother.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Veronica Brown of Hillsboro and Richard and Ginny Brown of Rome; two daughters and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Ed West of Washington C.H.; and Brenda Caudill of London; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a special niece, Sharon Davis of Hillsboro; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Hamer Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
