Ernestino U. “Ernie” Roybal, 68, of Loveland, formerly of the Rocky Fork Lake Area, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at his home in Loveland.
He was born May 3, 1944 in Raton, N.M., the son of the late Ramon and Tillie Romero Roybal.
He was retired from the United States Marine Corps. He was a member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post #138 in Hamilton, a member of the Rocky Fork AMVETS Post #61, Hillsboro VFW Post #9094 and the Hillsboro Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1161.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Jean Shepherd Roybal, to whom he married, December 9, 1972 in Cincinnati; daughter Michelle Lynn Roybal of Loveland; siblings, Tom Romero, Rudy (Merri) Romero, Terri Martinez, Patsy Romero, Joe (Valerie) Viccarelli, and James Romero; sister-in-law Peggy (Steve) Horgan; very special friend Steve Burkart; and many friends, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Turner Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Burial with military honors accorded by the Highland County Honor Guard will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Hillsboro. Visitation will be held on Friday from noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
