Ellen A. Vanderpool, 66, of Winchester, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 at the Bethesda North Hospital.

She was born in Hinton, W.Va. on Oct. 6, 1944, the daughter of the late Robert Jack and Rachel (Francis) Wills. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra, and one brother, Robert.

She is survived by her husband, whom she married on June 15, 1966, Albert Vanderpool of Winchester; three daughters & sons-in-law, Stephanie & Jeremiah Hess of Dayton, Monica & Jeremy Gray of Winchester, and Deanna Vanderpool of Winchester; five grandchildren, Megan Hess, Tabitha Hess, Gideon Hess, Janelle Hess, and Christian Gray; one great-grandson, Justin; and one sister, Patricia Reed of Danville, Ky.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the New Market Baptist Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
