Elizabeth L. “Betty” Graves, 91, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at her residence.
She was born in Highland County on Feb. 12, 1921 the daughter of the late Neal and Mary (Layman) Collins.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin “Eddie” Graves, on Aug. 16, 2007; and two brothers, Charles Collins and Donald Collins.
She was a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church, retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She is survived by one niece, Colleen (Randy) Anshutz of Leesburg; one great-niece, Haley Lewis; two great-nephews, Nick Fite and Tyler (Jacklyn) Fite; one great-great-nephew, Kaiden Fite; a step-son, Rich (Nancy) Graves of Leesburg; two step-grandchildren, Nicki (Chris) Fleming and Todd (Alicia) Graves; four step-great-grandchildren, Jordan, Alec and Logan Graves, and Morgan Fleming; a sister-in-law, Betty Collins of Leesburg; and a cousin, Margery Barney of Hillsboro.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Tom Zile will officiate with burial to follow in the Prospect Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
