Eleanor T. Cunningham, 85, of Leesburg died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011 at her home.
She was born Dec. 6, 1925 in Leesburg, the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret “Minnie” Deakon Terry.
Mrs. Cunningham had worked at Wil-Knit Hosiery Company and when she and her husband, Robert, started a family, she became a full-time mother to their four children.
She was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church, had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and had also been a member of the Snow Hill Country Club for over 30 years.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Cunningham, whom she married on June 15, 1947 in Leesburg; three children, Scott Cunningham of Chillicothe, Lisa (Curtis) Potter of Pleasanton, California and Bruce (Twilene) Cunningham of New Vienna; six grandchildren, Wyatt Potter, Tyler Potter, Bruce Michael (Kelli) Cunningham, Dustin Cunningham, Megan Cunningham and Chris (Tonia Dye) Vorhis; one step-grandchild Kecia Cropper; three great-grandchildren, Kadan Christopher Cunningham, Liam Riley Cunningham and Evan Vorhis; and three step-great-grandchildren, Cameron, Cortney and Kayla Dye.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina “Reggie” Cunningham; and one sister, Alice Jean Ongaro.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Leesburg United Methodist Church. Pastor Tom Knauff and Pastor John Fitzgerald will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Leesburg United Methodist Church.
