Ed “Edster” Banks, 59, of Hillsboro died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia. 
He was born Feb. 16, 1951 in Wolf County, Ky., the son of the late Cheryl and Grace Wilson Banks. 
Mr. Banks was a retired plumbing and electric contractor. 
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Odd Fellows and the Knights of Pythias. 
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Heffington Banks, whom he married on Oct. 23, 1972 in Indiana; one son, Scott (Lisa) Banks of Hillsboro; one grandson, Tanner Banks; one brother, Larry (Wendy) Banks of Centerville; two sisters, Helen (Rick) Jennings of Kettering, and Margaret (Harold) Conrad of Huber Heights; close family friends, Ron Estle and Tiffany Beal; and several nieces and nephews. 
Services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Danny Shaffer will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-3 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory. 
Memorials may be made to the Highland County Humane Society P.O. Box 471, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
