Dr. Grey L. Eckert, O.D., 54, of Washington Court House, died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at his residence.
He was born May 24, 1957 in Lititz, Pa., son of the late Carl B. Eckert and Nancy Landis Eckert.
He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School Class of 1975 and The Ohio State University, College of Optometry.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer L. Eckert, whom he married September 8, 1978; one brother, Doug (Sheila) Eckert of Hillsboro; a nephew, Carl A. Eckert of Dayton; and a great- niece, Kennedy Marie Eckert.
Dr. Eckert was a well known optometrist in the Washington Court House area and was the former owner of Optique Family Vision. Grey went through life with a smile and was loved by his patients, friends and family.
The Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home is serving the family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
