Dorothy Allen, 89, of Hillsboro, formerly of Waynesville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 at her residence.
She was born Dec. 9, 1921 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Walter Ernst and Isabel Coy Ernst.
She is survived by three daughters, Judy (Edmund) Adams of Waynesville, Linda Smith of Lebanon and Carol (Dick) Hayslip of Martinsville; three sons, Bill (Cheri) Allen of Brookville, David (Lucy) Allen of New Vienna and Charles Allen of Washington Court House, 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Eaton of Bellbrook; and sister, Vera Rogers of Washington State.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Allen; son, Robert D. Allen; daughter, Patricia Jean Allen; son, Dennis Allen; granddaughter, Michelle Allen; two brothers; and four sisters.
Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust St. at Mulberry St., Wilmington, Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Milo Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery. Friends will be received at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011 from noon - 2 p.m.
