Danny R. White, Sr., 68, of Cynthiana, died Friday, July 20, 2012 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.

He was born on Sept. 3, 1943 at Greenfield, the son of the late Harley and Mary Garrett White.

On Nov. 27, 1961, he married the former Virginia Thompson who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Danny R. (Angie) White, Jr. of Cynthiana; one daughter, Rita (Rod) Davis of Bainbridge; six grandchildren, Heather, Courtney, Daniel and Jarred White, Casey and Emily Davis; two great-grandchildren, Madison and McKenzie; and one sister, Brenda (Julian) Cooper of Cynthiana.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Walker and Ramona Gillespie.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from Western High School where he was a detention monitor. He was a member of the Luther Giffin Post 14, American Legion.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday July 24 at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home Bainbridge with the Rev. Mike Whitley officiating. Burial will follow in Bainbridge Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to the time of service.
