Curtis L. Jones
Curtis L. Jones, 79, of Leesburg died Friday, July 13, 2012 at his home.
He was born Nov. 1, 1932 in Gatewood, W.Va., the son of the late Charles and Almer Gay Conner Jones.
Mr. Jones began his career as a barber in Franklin, and later worked and retired after over 20 years of service from the Irwin Auger Bit Company in Wilmington. After retiring from the Irwin Company, he once again opened at barber shop in Leesburg for several years. He also was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Banks Jones, whom he married on Oct. 1, 1957 in Lebanon; two sons, Rich (Teresa) Jones of Middletown and Rob (Kevy) Jones of Leesburg; five grandchildren, Alayna Jones, Alicia Jones, Jeremy Jones, Jessica Whitt and Jason Jones; and one brother, James “Jack” Jones of Franklin.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Mr. Jones had requested that at the time of his death that no services be held.
The Turner Funeral Homes and Crematory is serving the family.
