Clarence Edward Gesselman, 83, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at his home.

He was born on Feb. 15, 1929 in Lewistown, Pa.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1979, after 25 years of service, then began work in civil service for 10 years before retiring again.

He is survived by two stepsons, James (Christine Simmons) Cornett of Greenfield and Larry Cornett of Kodiak, Ak.; one stepdaughter, Renee Ellison of Cincinnati; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Harriet Gesselman, and second wife, Virginia Lee Gesselman; two daughters, Melinda and Mary Gesselman; and one son, Charles Gesselman.

Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at the Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton with Chaplain Wendell Rome officiating and military rites to be provided by the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at the Murray-Fettro Home in Greenfield with veterans appreciation service to begin at 7 p.m.
